At the start of the semester in Cádiz, all students complete an intensive Spanish language course (45 contact hours). Students then select 3-4 electives from among the many classes offered by the University of Cádiz. Each course generally equates to three semester credits, and subject offerings include, Arabic Studies, Biotechnology, Business/Finance, English Literature, Environmental Science, Hispanic Studies, History, Humanities, Linguistics, Marine Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Philology and Literature (English, French, Greek, Latin, Spanish), Philosophy and Letters, and Psychology. Get Involved. Volunteer!

Participate in an environmentally-focused API Gives Back Project. The aim of this activity is to preserve the heritage of one of the most ancient salt marshes located in Cádiz. The activity is guided by former Universidad de Cádiz students who teach participants how to improve the breeding areas of several types of birds. In addition, participants are trained on the environmental, cultural, and ethnographic value of artisanal salt marshes.

Students can also be a part of ongoing volunteering, including:

  • Teach English at Juniors, which is an organization that offers educational support to children with few resources.
  • Join the “Zero Waste” group, which meets once a week to clean some parts of the city and collect waste, enhancing their respect for nature.
  • Help children with intellectual disabilities by practicing water sports with them.
  • There are many options! We can find any option depending on your interests.
