International Internships
International internships are a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a field related to your major in a diverse cultural environment. Not only do international internships allow students to experience a professional workplace, but they also allow students to learn about a new country and culture while abroad.
What is the Boise Process to intern?
1. Explore your options and check out API resources to answer your questions and help you prepare.
2. Meet with your department internship coordinator to discuss earning credit with API. Keep in mind, you must participate in an internship abroad for credit. You may bring in internship credit (493) or upper division elective credit (439)
3. Complete the required Boise State forms.
4. Work with the Boise State GL and the API Internship Team to discuss your goals and help you find the perfect fit.
5. Apply to your chosen program on Via-TRM and apply with API.
6. Work with the API Internship Team to submit your resume, prepare you to interview and get ready for the career-boosting experience of a lifetime!
Anything else I should know?
- You can travel abroad or work virtually, or intern part-time or full-time.
- You can earn API Career Creds to display the skills you have learned on your LinkedIn profile, differentiating your resume from your peers.
- Some internships require language proficiency.
- Most international internships are unpaid due to visa restrictions.
- All internships are career-enhancing and life-changing!
