PROGRAM SUMMARY:

In this study abroad experience, students will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina and learn about Operations Management, logistics and more! Engage with local businesses, ports and more with incredible excursions and site visits in this bustling economic and cultural hub.

Departure for Argentina on group flight (organized by UArk Little Rock)

  • API-organized airport reception and transfer to program accommodations

  • API cultural, health, and safety orientation
  • Neighborhood walking tour

  • Visit to the Port of Buenos Aires, one of the busiest ports in South America to better understand the challenges and intricacies involved in global trade logistics (pending availability)

Afternoon

  • Lunch on own
  • Visit the Centro de Distribución Puerto Madero (Puerto Madero Distribution Center). Located in close proximity to the port, this distribution center serves as a strategic hub for efficient logistics operations, facilitating the movement and distribution of goods within Buenos Aires and its surrounding areas (pending availability)
  • UArk debriefing (1.5 hrs)

Tuesday - 05/14/24

Morning

  • Breakfast at accommodations
  • Visit to AACREA (NGO that works within agricultural field)- Meeting with some of the directors, and short conference introducing AgroBusiness in the Region

Afternoon

  • UArk debriefing (1.5 hrs)
  • Organized futbol (soccer) match with local

Wednesday - 05/15/24

Morning

  • Breakfast at accommodations
  • Visit or conference with representative from the Buenos Aires City Office regarding Small Business promotion and tax facilities

Afternoon

  • Lunch on own
  • Banco Nacion Visit
  • UArk debriefing (1.5 hrs)

Evening

  • Dinner on own

Morning

  • Breakfast at accommodations
  • Visit to a yogurt manufacturing plant – La Serenissima Plant in General Rodriguez, to witness operations management practices in action

Afternoon

  • Lunch on own
  • UArk debriefing (1.5 hrs)

  • Tango Show
Friday - 05/17/24

Day Trip: Estancia near San Antonio de Areco

Morning

  • Breakfast at accommodations
  • Activities: horseback riding, folkloric dancing and show
